I see you are using 03 numbers. Do you make money from these?

No – 03 numbers are charged at standard national rates and are often included in call packages in the same ways as 01 and 02 numbers are.  We don’t get a payment from the telecommunications companies for calls to 03 numbers.

What is GPS?

Global Positioning System (GPS) provides location and time information using satellites placed in space. The black box uses GPS to find out the precise location of your car at a specific time; this can then tell us other information about your driving such as speed and braking.

What is fronting?

Fronting is when the main driver of the car is falsely listed on the policy. For example, an older driver may be listed as the main driver on a policy in order to reduce the price. Fronting is in fact against the law and in the event of an accident can leave the vehicle uninsured exposing the policyholder to the possibility of having to meet the costs of a claim themselves and also potentially open to a motoring conviction.

How do you know how girls drive?

Drive like a girl is a sister company of insurethebox, the UK’s leading telematics car insurer. insurethebox has gathered over 1 billion miles of data, which enables us to understand the driving differences between women and men and especially young women and young men.

The data shows that women differ from men in almost every aspect of their driving.

Young women:

  • Drive more smoothly with less rapid acceleration and harsh braking
  • Drive less at night
  • Drive slower on each type of road
  • Drive shorter distances before taking a break

We use these criteria to establish if you ‘drive like a girl’.
