What should I do if I put the wrong fuel in my car?

Please call 0330 022 0123 immediately – do not attempt to drive your car as you could cause more serious damage.

Where in my car is the box fitted?

This depends on the make and model of your car. In all cases the in-tele-box will be out of sight, will not affect the electrics in your car, and will take under an hour to install.

What should I do about the box if I change car?

If you insure your new car with drive like a girl, we will simply fit a new in-tele-box to your new car. The in-tele-box in the previous car will be switched off so no data is transmitted. It will only be removed if either you or the new owner specifically requests it.

Please note: if your policy or renewal start date is on or after 15/09/14, there is a £90 fee if you change your car. Fees will be subject to Insurance Premium Tax where applicable.

Will the in-tele-box affect my battery?

The in-tele-box does use power from the battery, but it needs very little charge (less than a car radio) and should not drain your battery as long as it is in good working order.

What do I need to do if I change my car?

Please call Customer Service on 0330 022 0200 and we will update your details. You must tell us straight away about any changes that may affect your policy.

These include changes to your car, where you live, or your list of named drivers. If you don’t tell us this new information you may not be covered if you need to make a claim. Please note: any change in circumstances may result in an increase or decrease in premium.

If I buy a car that has been imported from outside the UK will you be able to insure it?

No – drive like a girl does not provide cover for vehicles imported into the UK by persons other than the manufacturer of the vehicle.

My car has been modified, will you still insure it?

No – drive like a girl does not provide cover for vehicles that have been modified (other than by the manufacturer or for a disability). Please call Customer Service on 0330 022 0200 if you’re unsure whether a particular alteration to your car is classed as a modification.

I can’t print my insurance certificate and need to tax my car, what should I do?

You don’t necessarily need your Policy Certificate to tax your car. You can tax your car online, or by phone as long as you are the registered keeper of the car. Visit www.gov.uk/tax-disc to tax your car online now or call the DVLA on 0870 850 4444 to renew by phone.

Please note: if you have just taken out a policy it can take up to 7 days for your insurance information to reach the Motor Insurance Database.

Do I have to insure my car if I have declared it off road?

No, providing you have completed a  Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). You might, however, still wish to continue cover so your car is covered against any damage while it is off road. For more information visit http://www.direct.gov.uk/motoring.
