The black box will remain in your car but it is permanently disabled by us remotely. If you wish you may request for it to be removed.
If you do not want to renew with us, you need to call us more than 3 days before your renewal date – the earlier the better. You will receive your renewal documents 21 days before your current policy expiry date. Remember: if you have shown that you ‘drive like a girl’ you could get a competitive price at renewal.
No – you will not have to pay any extra towards the cost of the black box if you do not renew your policy at the end of your first year of cover.
However, if your policy is cancelled and a black box has already been fitted to your car, or had been fitted to a car you previously insured with us, the cancellation fee will be £80. Fees will be subject to Insurance Premium Tax where applicable.
Unless you have authorised us to use a different card, for example when you have made a mid-term adjustment, your renewal payment(s) will be taken from the card that you provided when you first took out the policy. If any of your payment details have changed, please call us on 0330 022 0200.
If you pay by direct debit then the initial payment will be taken within 10 working days after the renewal date. Your following direct debits will then be taken each month on this date for the remainder of your policy. If you pay by credit or debit card then the payment will be collected 3 days before the policy is due for renewal.
If you have given us permission, your Policy will be renewed automatically using the payment details you have previously given.
We will only automatically renew your Policy after issuing you with a renewal notice. If you do not want us to automatically renew your cover, you must contact us more than 3 days before your renewal date and advise us accordingly. Your renewal payment will be taken from your account 3 days before the renewal date. Should this payment fail or we have any difficulties in collecting your premium, we will contact you at the address you have given us.
It is however your responsibility to ensure you are covered to drive your car. Please check your renewal notice for further details when it is available to you.

Yes – we will take into account your drive like a girl score when we calculate the price of your renewal premium. The better your drive like a girl score at the end of the year the more likely you are to see reductions in your premium at renewal. This will depend on the information collected from the black box in your car; you will be able to see how you’re doing by logging into Your Portal.
