Where will the recovery agent take my vehicle?

If recovered within the working day and you agree to use one of our approved UK repairers, then the car will be taken to the nearest approved repairer. If out of hours, it will be delivered to your home address or a secure compound and the approved repairer will collect the vehicle from there within 24 hours of being notified by drive like a girl.

What are the benefits of using one of your approved UK repairers?

Any repairs to your car undertaken by one of our approved UK repairers are subject to the following guarantees:

  • The body work, paintwork and labour will be guaranteed for 4 years, and the replacement parts used will be covered for the duration of the manufacturer’s guarantee.
  • If you use one of our approved UK repairers, we will provide a temporary replacement car while repairs to your car are being carried out, provided that one is available.

Repairs may be undertaken by a repairer of your choice, but this may lead to a delay in arranging the repair of your car and we will not be able to provide you with a courtesy car or guarantee the repairs.

Will I have to pay an excess?

What happens to my policy if my car is unrepairable following a claim?

If we agree with you that your car is deemed to be a total loss after a claim with us, we may cancel the policy. In the event of the cancellation of your policy following a claim you may not be entitled to a return of premium. Please refer to the Private Car Policy Document for full details.

My windscreen has been damaged, what should I do?

Call our approved windscreen repairer, Auto Windscreens, on 0844 826 8376. They will arrange to either repair or replace the windscreen at your convenience.

What are uninsured losses?

Uninsured losses are any losses that you incur as a result of a claim which are not covered under the terms of your policy. All drive like a girl policies with start dates from 01/12/14 include Uninsured Loss Protection.

This provides cover for legal costs up to £100,000 to reclaim losses, not covered by your policy, from someone who has caused an accident resulting in your injury or damage to your car. Please therefore ensure you retain all documentary evidence in relation to uninsured losses, as this may be required to pursue the losses as part of your policy cover.

Can I claim on my car insurance policy if my vehicle is hit by an uninsured driver or by an unknown driver when parked?

As all our policies are comprehensive, we will cover the costs of getting your car repaired and then seek to obtain our costs from the driver at fault.  However if we are unable to claim these costs back through them or their insurer you may lose some or all of your no claim discount and have to pay your excess as a result.

What happens if my car has been stolen?

If your car is stolen, you need to contact the police, report the theft and obtain a crime report number. You should then call our Claims line on 0330 022 0123. They will then record the crime number and verify your details. The agent will then contact G4S (Group 4 Security), who will instigate vehicle tracking and will contact a dedicated police department directly.  The contact centre will regularly update pursuing police vehicles on the location of the stolen vehicle.

Yes – please consult your policy documents for your agreed excess amount. These can be found online via Your Portal.
